History

 Changhua County's firefighting work was originally performed by the county Police Bureau's fire fighting team until the formal establishment of this Bureau on March 6, 1999. Apart from the bureau chief, the deputy bureau chief, and the secretary, this Bureau also consists of fire prevention, emergency rescue, emergency first-aid, education and training, and fire investigation subsections, a disaster relief and rescue command center, as well as administrative, personnel, accounting, and ethics offices. There are four fire firefighting teams with 31 squads under them. There are 747 formal working personnel.

 The county government issued the 'Changhua Fire Department Organizational Rules' on Oct. 12, 2000 in compliance with the recently enacted 'Local System Act.' There have been no changes to units or formal personnel.。Addition of the Luming Branch in December 2003。Addition of the Disaster Management Subsection in July 2004.
